RCMP probing the six terrorist bombings of  EnCana Gas pipelines say another threatening letter has been received which has police worried. (Latest here, with copy of letter.)

It is not known if the letter is similar to one received several months ago which described the company as “terrorist.”

The earlier letter was sent to a Dawson Creek media outlet. RCMP said the latest letter was received by a local business but did not name the recipient.

Six bombs have exploded at various locations near Dawson Creek. The fifth and sixth bombs went off on Canada Day and another went off while RCMP were working in the area and while gas line crews were still trying to repair the leak from the July 1 explosion.

Both July bombings caused gas to leak from pipelines. A $500,000 reward has been posted by Encana for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.

Just who has carried out the attacks on EnCana infrastructure and what the motive is has not been clarified despite a long investigation of several incidents.

A threatening letter received by EnCana earlier described the company as a “terrorist.” But whether eco-terrorists are responsible is not clear.

“A suspicious letter was received by a local media outlet on Oct. 10 advising local oil and gas companies to cease production and leave the area. RCMP contacted local oil and gas businesses to advise them of the letter. It did not contain any specific threats,” RCMP said earlier.

Some of the piplines carry sour-gas which contains toxic Hydrogen-Sulphide.

RCMP said Wednesday new letter is “very concerning” to investigators.

“A letter has been received today by a Dawson Creek business concerning the pipeline bombings. This letter is very concerning to investigators,” said Sgt. Tim Shields. The letter will be made pulbic on Thursday. A copy of the earlier letter is reporduced below.
