“You died protecting me and other family, we all love you and will miss u alot…dont ever forget that,” said the 15-year-old Delta Secondary School student on the group page on Facebook titled “R.I.P DAD I LOVE YOU,I’LL MISS U (SAM McGOWAN).”

“Conor when you were born you were the ‘apple of your Dad’s eye’ as a little baby he was so proud of you,” said a woman from Kelowna. “….I am sure your Dad has left you with many many memories that you can cherish forever…now you can look up in the sky and see the brightest star over you and he will be smiling.”

“I known your Dad for 25 years, we grew up in the same neighborhood. Our group had alot of fun together back then. Good memories. I’m so sorry young fella. Your Dad was one of the good guys, always was. I know things are hard right now buddy, but dont let anger take over. Your Dad wouldn’t want that for you. You and your family will be in my prayers. take care of each other. Rest in Peace Sammy, I’ll miss u,” said Don Rozka of Vancouver.
