RCMP release video of bear hunt in Surrey neighborhood


SURREY, B.C. – A massive black bear  romped thorough back yards and crashed over fences before being  tracked down and tranquilized.

RCMP said they were called by frightened residents who reported the bear at around noon on Wednesday in the neighborhood in the 15400-block of 112A Avenue.

 ”Upon arrival, members observed an adult male black bear in the area walking through yards and over fences. Members immediately notified nearby residents of the situation and advised them to keep inside,” said a police statement.

Conservation officers arrived on the scene and with the help of RCMP officers   tracked down the bear. The animal was tranquilized and removed from the area.

Luckily, no one was injured by the visit.

Conservation officials will release the bear into the wilds later.
