Red Scorpion gang jacket found by drug cops
ABBOTSFORD – Gang cops have seen the notorious insignia of the Red Scorpion cocaine dealing gang on tattoos and some clothing.
But an elaborate jacket carrying the colours of the notorious gang discovered by Abbotsford police is believed to be the first time cops have seen a gang garment of this type.
Const, Ian MacDonald, a spokesman for Abbotsford Police said the jacket was found during a search of a residence in the 8400-block of Doerksen Drive in Mission on August 27.
The raid was carried out with the help of the heavily armed Emergency Response Team.
“The search resulted in the arrest of 2 men and $3000.00 cash, bear spray, ammunition, 4 ounces of cocaine and a ‘Red Scorpion” jacket being seized,” said MacDonald.
” To date we have come across “rs” tattoos and some clothing, but nothing as elaborate as this,” he said of the jacket emblazoned with a large red scorpion.
Charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking are 28-year-old Michael O’Brien and 27-year-old Mohamed Amarhoun.
Both men are well known to police, said MacDonald.
