ABBOTSFORD – Facebook tributes are pouring in for Bobby Digeorgio and his girlfriend Jessica Illes found murdered last week.
Police identified 24-year-old Bobby Lee Roy Digeorgio as the person whose charred remains were found in a burned out vehicle parked on a berry field near the 400-block of Gladwin Road on August 27.
Police said they used dental records to make a positive identification.
While investigating his death, police stumbled on to the body of his girlfriend, Jessica Illes, 23, said Cpl. Dale Carr.
“While conducting inquiries into the murder of Digeorgio investigators attended a residence 31300 block of McConachie Place in Abbotsford,” he said. “ During the inquiries at the residence investigators discovered the murdered body of 23-year-old Jessica Amber Illes.”
“Investigators have complied information to link the Illes homicide to the Digeorgio homicide,” said Carr.
“Illes and Digeorgio were last seen together and were in a relationship. Both victims were known to police in the Abbotsford area. They were known for involvement in criminal activity and the drug trade,” he said.
“Both of these investigations are linked to drugs and organized crime and are considered to be targeted murders,” said Carr, a spokesman for the integrated homicide investigation team.
In a Facebook tribute to Illes, her sister, Natalie said: “Nothing Can Compare to the bond we had. You were my best friend. My big sister, the most generous, funny, outgoing, lovable, and by far beautiful girl I’ll ever see in my life. I’m so happy I had the chance to experience so many wonderful memories with you.”
” You will always be in my heart Jessica,” she said.
