Langley boy suffers dog bite while taking part in bottle drive

LANGLEY, B.C. – A 12-year-old boy taking part in a bottle recycling drive suffered a dog bit when he opened the fence gate of a home.

The boy was in the area taking part in a bottle drive in Walnut Grove.

“He arrived at a residence where the entire property was surrounded by a fence.  He opened the gate to the property and entered to ring the front door bell,” said Cpl. Holly Marks.

” The dog, a mixed breed (mutt), came from the rear of the house and bit the elbow of the young boy once.  He will have his injuries looked at by a physician,” she said.

“Langley Animal Protection Society attended and the dog was not seized.  Over the next weeks, they will continue their investigation and determine what level of enforcement is required,” she said.

  1. Why will animal control continue to investigate? The dog was in a secure area doing his job. End of investigation!
