SURREY, B.C. – Multiple gun shots rang out in a normally quiet south Surrey neighborhood on Wednesday night.

Police, responding to call of shots fired, found a residence had been shot at five times.

The home, near 15640 33A Avenue was riddled with five bullet holes. Police said the bullets struck the chimney of the home but did not penetrate the external walls.

It is not clear if someone was targeting the house specifically or whether occupants of two vehicles that were in the area exchanged gun fire – with stray bullets hitting the home.

“A light colored SUV or Mini Van and a second vehicle of unknown make or color were in the area at the time of the incident,” said police.

“The residence and occupants are not known to police,” said a statement issued by RCMP.

Police are asking for public help in identifying the shooters.
