Two on motorbike in serious condition after hit-and-run


NANAIMO, B.C. – A male motorcyclist and his female passenger are in serious condition in hospital after a hit-and-run accident involving a vehicle that is now being sought by police.

Police were called to the intersection of Church Road and Alberni Highway at about 7:50 p.m. on Sunday.

 The car fled the scene prior to police arrival.

“The vehicle which fled the scene is a blue colored 1984 Chevrolet Cavalier, registered to a resident of Oceanside,” police said.

“ The driver and passenger of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and were transported to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital by British Columbia Ambulance Paramedics. They remain hospitalized,” said Sgt. Darrell S. Robertson

A Collision Analyst with the RCMP South Island Traffic Services attended the scene.

The vehicle which fled the scene has a  BC License Plate: 131 RBB.

“The vehicle would have noticeable front end damage as well as possible damage to the driver side front panel,” said the policeman.

Police are also asking for witnesses to come forward.
