Surveillance pics may help solve businessman’s murder
VANCOUVER – Bill Chan’s dead body was found in his Honda Odyssey van. He had been murdered.
Police are now pinning their hope of finding two men who may be able to help the investigation. They have photos that would be readily identifiable to anyone who knows these men.
These were surveillance pictures taken around the time of the murder on May 31, 2007.
Chan, a 45-year-old Tsawwassen businessman, was discovered murdered in the north lane of the 500 block West 10th Avenue in Vancouver.
“Police officers were called to the scene after an employee of a business noticed a grey Honda Odyssey van parked in their stall. Bill Chan’s body was found the van, which was his, and it is believed that he was murdered the previous evening,” said VPD spokesman Const. Lindsey Houghton.
The murder has remained unsolved.
“Investigators have been able to trace Mr. Chan’s movements on his last day and would like to identify two men who met with him the afternoon of May 30th, 2007, at a Lower Mainland mall,” said Houghton.
“These men are not considered suspects, but investigators would like to speak to them and are asking them to come forward. One of the men appears to be Asian and one appears to be white in the photos,” he said.
Anyone with information on the identity of these two men is asked to please call our Vancouver Police Department Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500 or if you’d prefer to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
