Langley motorcyclist killed in crash

SURREY, B.C. – A motorcyclist was killed instantly when he collided with an SUV which was making an illegal turn.

The accident occurred at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Fraser Highway just west of 176 Street, Isnp. Steve Wade said.

” The collision was between a motorcycle and SUV. Witnesses at the scene told police that the driver of the motorcycle had crossed a double solid line and into the west bound lanes in order to pass eastbound vehicles,” said Wade.

“As the motorcycle was passing, an SUV traveling east along Fraser Highway was making an illegal left turn into the Fraser Golf Center. The motorcycle collided with the SUV,” he added.

The biker, a 31-year-old from Langley, was killed instantly. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Police are investigating speed and alcohol as contributing factors in this collision.
