No signs of foul play on body of man found in Surrey

SURREY, B.C. – There were no obvious signs of foul play on the body of a 25-year-old man found sprawled on the sidewalk near 152nd Street and 108th Avenue in Surrey early Sunday morning.

“A body was found in the area of 152nd Street and 108th Avenue and that was at about 5:40 this morning,” said Insp. David Attfield. “Essentially, a male passed away, he’s approximately 25 year of age.”

“There is no obvious sign of foul play however we are treating it with care and making sure we conduct a full investigation,” he said about the absence of any outward signs of trauma.

“So at this point we can’t rule out foul play, however, nothing obvious at this point so this investigation is ongoing to determine a cause,” he added.

“There was no vehicle and it was on a sidewalk area,” he said. “There are all kinds of possibilities – natural cause or overdose or if the person had an underlying condition.”

He said the man’s family has been informed but police will not be releasing a name at this time.
