Help us get this savage off the streets: VPD
VANCOUVER – Outraged cops have released a composite drawing of a man wanted in connection with a savage sexual assault on a woman and pledged to do “absolutely everything” in their power to catch the suspect.
“This attack was predatory in nature and it has shocked and outraged the citizens of Vancouver and the general public,” said Supt. Bob Rothwell. “We shared the concerns of the community and we know that the best way to ease those concerns is to make an arrest as soon as possible.”
The 24-year-old woman was walking in the posh Point Grey area of Vancouver at around 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 18 when she was grabbed, dragged into a park and sexually attacked.
The woman was “ savagely attacked, beaten and sexually assaulted in the Hastings Mill Park in the 3800 block of Point Grey Road,” Rothwell said as he appealed to the public to come forward and help with the investigation.
“Let me emphasize, we are committed to doing absolutely everything within our power to identify and arrest the person responsible for this brutal attack,” said Rothwell who revealed a composite drawing of a man with a shaved head.
”Our investigators would like to speak with this individual. He is described as white, about 38 years old, 5’8” tall, 175 lbs., with a medium build, a shaved head and short facial stubble that is graying. He was wearing a green hoodie with a white zipper and blue jeans,” he said.
”We know from experience that the public is often instrumental in solving crimes. Please allow me to make a direct appeal to the public: If you have any information or recognize the person in this picture, we ask that you contact our investigators by calling sex crimes investigators at 604-717-3473 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477,” Rothwell said in his appeal.
