PRINCE GEORGE, B.C – A police operation targeting organized crime in Prince George has resulted in the seizure of dozens of dangerous guns including assault rifles and altered handguns along with explosives and marijuana.

“This is a significant seizure, on a dangerous group operating in Prince George,” said Sgt. Raj Sidhu after police publicly listed the weapons and charged a 28-year-old man with multiple counts relating to firearms and growing marijuana.
Since October 22, police have seized a Ruger .223 mini-14 semi -automatic rifle with illegal modifications,  a Beretta CX4 Storm 9 mm semi-automatic rifle (Found in vehicle), Winchester model 140 12 gauge shotgun with illegal modifications, an AR-15 .223 calibre semi-auto rifle as well as 11 other rifles.

Also seized were two  40 calibre Glock handguns with illegal modifications and three other handguns. Police also hauled in numerous prohibited magazines, a home-made silencer, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and body armour.

In the latest raid, on Nov. 6, members of the combined forces special enforcement team executed a search warrant on a home on Queen’s Crescent.

Const. Craig Douglas said police are targeting a small but organized crime group operating in the Prince George area. A total of  17 criminal charges have been laid against three people and the police investigation continues.
