One in hospital after train-truck accident in Langley

LANGLEY, B.C. – The driver of a pickup truck has been taken to hospital following a colission between the vehicle and a southbound train on tracks south Worrell Crescent and Glover Road.

“The preliminary investigation suggests the driver of the pickup truck was either entering or exiting a driveway on the west side of Glover Road when the truck collided with the train,” police said. The accident was reported around 3 p.m. on Thursday.

“The driver of the truck was conscious and speaking shortly after the collision. He has subsequently been transported to hospital by BC Ambulance Service,” said a police spokesperson.

“Initially, Glover Road was closed to traffic. It has been re-opened, however the train will remain unmoved for sometime as railway personnel complete the necessary safety checks before resuming operation,” police said.
