Surrey senior, 74, charged with second degree murder of wife
SURREY, B.C. – Sebastiano Damin, 74, of Surrey has been charged with second degree murder in the slaying of his 69-year-old wife Maria Addolorate Catroppa.
She was found dead on Tuesday morning at around 3:20 when police were called to a disturbance at a townhouse complex in the 8500-block of 164 Street.
Cpl. Dale Carr said Wednesday that police will not speculate about what led to the death and the stabbing injuries suffered by Damin who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Damin and Catroppa were married and living at the residence where the incident took place,” he said.
When police arrived at the scene they found Damin suffering from stab wounds, said Carr earlier. He was transported to a hospital and was taken into custody.
When police searched the house they found his wife dead.
