Tiger Woods is fine after treatment for crash injuries
WINDERMERE, Florida – Tiger Woods’ office says the golfing legend was treated and released after a minor accident.
“Tiger Woods was in a minor car accident outside his home last night,” said a statement on his official web site.
“He was admitted, treated and released today in good condition,” said the short statement. “We appreciate very much everyone’s thoughts and well wishes.”
Florida State troopers said Woods suffered injuries and was taken to hospital early Friday morning after a car accident.
Woods pulled out of his driveway of his home at around 2:25 a.m. in his Cadillac SUV and begun driving forward when he struck a fire hydrant, said a press release by Florida Highway Patrol official Kim Montes.
“Driver had just pulled out of the driveway at his residence,” said a press release. “As V1 (vehicle) began to drive on Deacon Circle, V1 struck a fire hydrant.”
“THE FRONT OF V1 THEN STRUCK A TREE LOCATED AT 6342 DEACON CIRCLE. THE DRIVER WAS TRANSPORTED TO HEALTH CENTRAL HOSPITAL. THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION AND CHARGES ARE PENDING,” said Montes.
A tropper indicates alcohol was not a factor. The same press release indicates his injuries were “serious.”
The accident happened at 6342 Deacon Circle and Deacon Court, which is Woods’ home.
State Troopers did not say what the charges would be if alcohol was not a factor.
As well, no one has explained why he left home at that time and why he crashed into the fire hydrant and a tree.
