Police lay charge in 2004 murder at Columbia Hotel
Vancouver – Police have laid a second degree murder charge in connection with the August 2004 slaying of a 79-year-old man.
George Phillip Holt, 63, was picked up at his home in New Westminister and charged with the death of Reginald Haynes.
Haynes’s body was found in his room at the Columbia Hotel on August 28th, 2004.
Vancouver Police canvassed building residents at the time and Holt surfaced as a person of interest in the murder, said Vancouver Police spokeswoman Const. Jana McGuiness.
“Investigators have determined that Haynes was murdered after a dispute between the two men, who were neighbours, turned violent,” she said.
