Dirty letters sent to Kamloops elementary schools cause concern

KAMLOOPS – Some sicko is sending dirty letters to two Kamloops area elementary schools fantasizing about sex with young girls.
A total of seven letters have been sent in one week to the North Shore and Westsyde elementary schools, said Const. Cheryl Bush on Friday.
“They are addressed to the school,” she said. “They are letters with very graphic, explicit content involving sex with young females.”
“The letters are not specific, not naming anyone, they are quite generic,” she said. “There have been seven letter over a period of a week.”
Bush said the letters were mailed out locally.
“Kamloops RCMP are continuing their investigation into obscene letters sent to elementary schools that started arriving last week,” police said in a statement.
“ Five letters were received at north shore and Westsyde elementary schools on November 24 and 25. On December 2, two of the same schools reported to police that a second letter has been received,”
“Police have seized these letters and confirm that they are similar in content to the first ones and police are confident it is the same author. This individual continues to express disturbing sexual fantasies, not at anyone specific, but involving very young females,” police said.
Police are pouring resources into finding the culprit for fear that the person may act out the fantasies.
“There are numerous resources being put into this matter and it is being treated very seriously.
“We do not want to cause panic, however we want to ensure the safety of children and the community. RCMP encourage parents to review stranger awareness and common safety rules with their children,” police said.
Kamloops RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance with any information that may lead to the person responsible. Please contact the RCMP at (250)828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
