Woman arrested in serious stabbing in Winnipeg
WINNIPEG - A 19-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with stabbing a male acquaintance during an altercation at a party.
Police said a 21-year-old male remains in hospital following the stabbing incident on Saturday morning. He is listed in critical condition.
Police were called to a home in the 100-block of Kinver Avenue at around 11:40 a.m. on Saturday.
“Attending members located a 21 year old male victim with injuries to his upper body. He was conveyed to hospital in critical condition,” said a police statement.
“The investigation revealed that the victim and a 19-year-old female (casual acquaintances) were present a party in the area. At one point during the gathering they became involved in a verbal argument which escalated to a physical altercation,” police said.
“It is alleged that the female armed herself with a knife and stabbed the victim to the upper body,” police stated.
Carleigh Jordyn Lathlin, 19, of Winnipeg, has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.
