Whistler man dies in crash near Squamish

SQUAMISH, B.C. – A three-vehicle accident on Highway 99 North of Britannia Beach has killed a 40-year-old man from Whistler.

A 2000 Subaru Impressa heading north on Highway 99 and crossed over into the south-bound lane. The vehicle was struck by a Ford pickup heading south.

Another vehicle which was also heading south then ran into the two vehicle crash.

The drivers of the south bound vehicles were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The driver of the Subaru vehicle, Christopher Hauserman died at the scene.

Police said it was raining at the time of the accident on Thursday evening. They said fatigue or failing to pay attention likely resulted in the crash.

Speed and alcohol were not a factor.
