Man arrested for trying to push women off platform.

TORONTO – Police have arrested a man for trying to push two women into the path of oncoming subway trains.

Sean Duck, 29, of Toronto, was charged with one count of aggravated assault and will likely face a second count if a second woman who he allegedly tried to push off the platform comes forward.

“On Thursday, December 24, 2009, at 6:10 p.m., police responded to a call for an assault at the St. Andrew subway station,” said a police statement.

“It is alleged that a man approached a woman on the northbound subway platform of St. Andrew subway station ? the man attempted to push the woman on to the live tracks in front of an oncoming train,” police said.

“The victim was able to escape and contact TTC personnel,” said a delayed statement issued by police.

The man then tried to push a second woman off the platform but she was able to escape as well.

TTC special constables arrested the suspect.

Police urged the second victim to come forward. She apparently left before she could be questioned.

“The second victim has not been identified and investigators are asking her, or anyone with information, to contact police at 416?808?5200, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416?222?TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
Constable,” police said.
