Police case falls apart - Mark Trube is freed.

VANCOUVER - Mark Trube walked out of police custody a free man a few hours after he surrendered over allegations that he had left behind a bomb at his parents’ place.
Now, the cops are not so sure. And it would appear Trube is completely innocent.
An entire block was evacuated on East 45th Avenue when it was announced a suspicious package had been found at a home.
Later police charged him with possession of explosives and uttering threats. It would have appeared that police were sure those were explosive items.
At this point, police have completely reversed the situation relating to his arrest and charges.
“Mark Trube has been released from custody and earlier charges have been stayed while further follow up is conducted by investigators,” Const. Jana McGuinness said.
“On the evening of Dec. 28th information received by police from Mr. Trube’s mother indicated that there was a bomb in the fridge and a bucket in the bedroom that might contain bomb making materials. Threats had been made that the bombs could be detonated,” said McGuinness.
“Faced with what they believed was a very serious risk, VPD Emergency Response Team and Explosive Technicians enacted the necessary protocols and procedures at the time, taking extraordinary steps to destroy the suspicious package and safeguard the public in the vicinity of the incident,” she added.
“Further investigation and interviews with the complainants and Mr. Trube have revealed that more analysis of the substances inside the package will be required to determine what, if any explosive substances were present, and if indeed valid threats existed,” McGuinness said.
