Winnipeg stabbing victim in critical condition


WINNIPEG – A man is in critical condition in hospital from a stabbing  while a second man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries following an early morning altercation on New Year’s Day.

Police said the incident was reported to them at 8:55 a.m. on Friday from an area near Grosvenor Avenue and Lilac Street.

Police arrived to find three injured men. An adult had suffered life-threatening stab wounds to his upper body and remains in critical condition in hospital.

A second man was stabbed in the mid-section of his body and is being treated for non life-threatening injuries in hospital.

A third man was also involved and was assaulted. He is being treated for non-life threatening injuries as well.

Police said it is too early to say what happened between the three people who were taken to hospital.
