Woman’s death in Calgary hotel room is suspicious
CALGARY – Homicide detectives are probing the discovery of a woman’s body in her hotel room.
Police described the death of the woman on New Year’s Day as suspicious.
Hotel workers at the Traveller’s Inn at 4611 – 16th Avenue discovered the dead woman.
Police were called to the hotel room at 12:36 p.m. on Friday. Clerks decided to look into the room when the occupants failed to check out on time.
“As the death is suspicious, the Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
Since this investigation is in it’s early stages, no further information will be released until after the autopsy,” said a police statement issued Saturday morning.
An autopsy is likely to shed more light on what happened, however, police said one has not yet been scheduled.
