Woman, 73, critically injured in Burnaby hit and run


BURNABY, B.C. – A 73-year-old Burnaby woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a vehicle while she was crossing the road on Thursday afternoon.

The suspect vehicle failed to  remain at the scene.

“A 73-year-old the woman was crossing the intersection of Willingdon Ave and Kitchener when she was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital and is currently listed in critical condition,” she said.

If you have information about this crime or were in the area when it occurred please contact the Burnaby RCMP at (604)294-7922.

“You may have an important piece of information which may assist in locating the vehicle and driver,” she said.

North and southbound Willingdon from Kitchener to Midlawn will be closed for an extended period, she added.
