Police have arrested a man in connection with Jeaniel Berreault's death.

 

FORT NELSON, B.C. – (Update) Jeaniel Berreault’s common-law partner has been charged with second degree murder in connection with her death. 

The popular 22-year-old was near death inside her own home in the Fort Nelson First Nation reserve when police were called on Saturday. 

Attempts by paramedics and firemen to save her life failed. Police have charged Michael (Emerson) Capot-Blanc who was ordered remanded in custody until March. 

Police said the call for an ambulance was made by Capot-Blanc and he remained within the home where police arrested him. 

The dead woman is being mourned on Facebook by a group of friends and relatives. 

Laura Loe, a cousin, said: “My beautiful cousin RIP, still can’t believe it, but we have to accept it no matter how hard it is , we will miss you so much, in our heart you will remain 4ever, someday we will meet again.” 

Police are asking anyone who has information relating to Berreault or Capot-Blanc, particularly in relation to the day she died, to call them.
