Kamloops woman fights for her life, ex boyfriend found dead
KAMLOOPS – RCMP are probing the bizarre death of a man following a violent attack on his ex girlfriend.
“Kamloops RCMP are investigating an assault with a weapon that resulted in serious injuries to a Kamloops area woman,” police said.
“At this point, police consider this a case of domestic violence between the woman and an ex-boyfriend. His body was found early Sunday morning by a member of the public in the Petersen Creek area. There is no suspicion of foul play in his death,” said police.
Police were called to a Columbia Street Hotel at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
“A women in the room had suffered a serious assault. The room had been rented to a lone male and the women was unknown to the staff of the hotel,” said police.
“She was found with serious injuries to her upper body which appear to have been inflicted by some kind of a weapon. She was taken to RIH Emergency ward and has since been flown by Air Ambulance to a Vancouver hospital for treatment. Her condition is very serious.”
“The police have determined a male with blood on him had fled the Hotel before investigators arrived. He then left the area by car. Police believe the male was the ex-boyfriend of the Assault victim,” said cops.
A search for the suspect ended at 8:20 a.m on Sunday when a passer-by found the man’s body in the Petersen Creek area.
“There is no suspicion of foul play in his death,” police said, but did not announce whether the man had ended his own life.
