Toronto doctor accused of sexual assault on incapacitated patients

TORONTO – A hospital scandal has rocked Ontario with the revelation that a doctor working at North York General Hospital has been accused of sexually assaulted patients while they were under the effects of anaesthetics.
The Toronto Police Service has charged Dr. George Doodnaught, 61, with three counts of sexual assault and fear there may be more victims.
It is alleged that three victims were assaulted while they were undergoing surgical procedures in hospital.
The three female victims reported being assault by the accused separately. The assaults allegedly took place between August 2007 and Februry 2010.
Doodnaught has worked at North York General Hospital in Toronto for the past 28 years. He has been an anesthesiologist since 1981. He has also worked at a number of other facilities in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Toronto Police are working with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario to determine if there are other victims.
