Suspect in custody over Lighthouse Park murder

Ontario woman's body was found in this park.
WEST VANCOUVER – An 11-month joint investigation has led to charges against a New Westminster man over the murder of Tammy-Lynn Cordone whose body was found in Lighthouse Park last year.
Cordone, who was from Thunder Bay, Ontario, was found dead inside a tent on May 19, 2009.
“Crown Counsel has now approved a charge of 2nd Degree Murder against 45-year-old Alexander Lawrence La Glace of New Westminster,” said Const. Jeff Palmer.
“La Glace was arrested this morning (Tuesday) in Vancouver. He is being held in custody pending a first court appearance at North Vancouver Provincial Court Wednesday morning,” Palmer said.
Police were called to Lighthouse Park at 3:30 in the morning to a report that a woman had been found dead.
The 43-year-old Cordone was living in a tent in the Juniper Point area of the park.
West Vancouver Police teamed up with Vancouver PD to investigate the case under a joint agreement.
The arrest brought kudos from West Vancouver Police chief Peter Lepine for the dilligence of investigators and the support offered by VPD under the shared services agreement.
