Woman pedestrian killed in Duncan road crash

DUNCAN – A woman walking on Allenby Road was killed when she was struck by one vehicle then another after being tossed from the south-bound lane into the path of a north-bound car.

Police said the woman was rushed to Cowichan District Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The accident occurred on Thursday at around 8:10 p.m.

A police spokesman said the woman was observed running on to the road where she was struck by a south-bound vehicle. She was then hurled into the north-bound lane and struck by another car.

A South Island Traffic Services analyst was called to the scene and RCMP are continuing their investigation.

No name was released.
