Police probe highway robbery of Mission woman
MISSION – Police are probing the highway robbery of a woman whose car broke down near Lougheed Highway and Husband Road on Friday.
Cops said the 50-year-old woman was parked by the roadside and trying to get assistance from passersby. She was walking to get help when three thugs robbed her.
“The Mission RCMP was called about the incident an hour after it occurred as the victim walked all the way home after receiving injuries from the incident as she could not find other assistance. The victim received injuries to her head and had her purse stolen with her identification,” police said.
“The suspects were driving westbound on the Lougheed Highway, in a mid 90′s, gray-coloured Honda Accord and are described as Native males, 17-22 years old. The suspect passenger was further described as having long black hair that was very thin and wearing a white tank top undershirt,” police added.
“The victims vehicle was a van that broke down just west of Husband Road, she was walking on the north side of the Lougheed Highway when this incident occurred,” said Cpl. Raina Siou.
