Calgary woman’s Mercedes hijacked at knife-point
CALGARY – A woman who was drying her vehicle at a car wash on Richmond Road S.W was accosted at knife-point by a suspect who then hijacked her car.
Cops said the woman was dragged for a short distance but luckily did not suffer serious injuries.
Police are looking for public help over the incident at around 5:20 p.m. on Saturday.
“She was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation about her vehicle,” police said.
“He then showed the victim a knife and, after a brief struggle, he got into her vehicle and sped from the scene.
“As she attempted to reach in and honk the horn, she was dragged a short distance,” said a statement. “She suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.”
The suspect drove eastbound on Richmond Road S.W., and then headed south on 37 Street S.W.
The vehicle, a mid-blue convertible Mercedes-Benz CLK500 C with an Alberta license plate HTMAMA, was located on Monday in an alley behind Safeway in the 3000-block of 37 Street S.W.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, between 19 and 27 years old, 150 to 180 lbs., 5’9” to 6’ tall with a slim build and blond hair in a buzz cut. He was wearing a white hoodie with a dark design, blue jeans and runners.
