Knife-point PNE sex attack suspect arrested
VANCOUVER – A 59-year-old woman collecting bottles on PNE grounds was sexually attacked at knife-point.
“A 59 year old Vancouver woman was in the southern area of the park collecting bottles near some trees when a man approached her, brandishing a knife. She was sexually assaulted,” police said.
“Following the assault, the man let her go and she walked out of the park to the PNE administration office to get help,” Vancouver police said about the incident on May 13.
A police dog team located a suspect and arrested him
Gary Alexander Vogrig, 47, has been charged with two counts of sex assault with a weapon. The suspect has no fixed address He has been remanded in custody until May 21 for a bail hearing.
