Langley boy dies from motorcycle accident injuries


LANGLEY, B.C. – A Langley boy riding a motorcycle was killed at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday when his bike collided with truck-camper.

“Sadly, Langley RCMP is investigating their second fatality resulting from a motor vehicle collision for 2010,” said Cpl. Holly Marks.

“The investigation is in the very early stages. Witnesses to the collision advise that at approximately 4:30 p.m. two teenage boys were traveling on motorcycles southbound on 272 Street. The first boy successfully navigated some curves in the road, however the second boy, who was wearing a helmet, was killed when he collided with a truck / camper combination as it traveled north,” she said.

“Langley Traffic Services currently has conduct of the investigation. The officers, with the much-needed and much-appreciated assistance of Victim Services, are interviewing witnesses and completing next of kin notifications to the family of the rider,” she added about the tragic aftermath of the accident.

The street is currently closed from 80th to 88th Avenue for the ongoing investigation.
