Toronto’s 49th murder victim of 2010 is boy, 15
TORONTO – A 15-year-old boy is among two teens shot dead as they were trying to exit an elevator in an apartment building on Saturday.
Police said Sealand White and Jermaine Derby, 19, had just left a party in the apartment building at 605 Whiteside Place and were heading to the main floor.
“They had just left a party at that location and were heading down the elevator to the main floor, the elevator opened on the main floor and both victims were shot by unknown suspects,” police said about the 2 a.m. incident.
Cops said one of the victims made his way through the front entrance of the building on to a driveway where he collapsed and died.
“The other victim remained on the elevator and went to the upper floor where he exited and collapsed on the floor,” police said.
“One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”
There have been numerous shootings in Toronto in 2010. These two were murders No. 48 and 49.
