Brampton Jane Doe killed in pedestrian crash still unidentified
BRAMPTON, Ontario – Police are having trouble identifying an Asian woman who was run down and killed on Friday while walking across a driveway at Shoppers World Plaza parking lot.
Police said the Asian woman, thought to be in her 30s, was rushed to the Toronto Trauma Centre after being struck by the driver of a 2003 Dodge Durango but their efforts to put a name tag on her have failed over the weekend.
“Officer’s from the Major Collision Bureau are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision involving a female pedestrian and are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the deceased woman,” Peel Police said.
“On Friday, January 21, 2011, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the victim was walking west bound, crossing a driveway at the south end of the Shoppers World Plaza parking lot in Brampton. The victim was struck by a 2003 Dodge Durango and sustained severe injuries. She was taken to a Toronto trauma centre, where she has since succumbed to the injuries,” said a statement issued on Sunday.
“Investigators have not been able to identify the victim and are asking the public for their assistance.”
The victim is described as female Asian, approximately 30 years old, 5’4” tall, 110 lbs, brown eyes and black hair straight to the shoulder.
