$750,000 in silver bullion stolen from Chilliwack home
CHILLIWACK, B.C. – Several thousand ounces of silver bullion worth $750,000 have been stolen following a home invasion.
Police said two men entered a home in the 10000-block of Imperial Street on Feb. 9.
“The occupant of the residence received several bruises while the suspects were attempting to obtain the silver. The victim believes the suspects may have been wearing a uniform,” police said.
“Police are in the preliminary stages of investigating this incident,” said Const. Tracy Wolbeck. “We are hopeful that given the time of day, someone saw something and can give us some helpful information.”
The suspects do not appear to be known to the victim. How they knew about the silver stored at the home remained an unanswered question on Wednesday.
The two males are described as being Caucasian, medium build, both in their early 30′s, dark hair with facial hair. The suspects may have been associated to a white Sedan type vehicle, possibly either a Toyota Camry or Pontiac G6.
If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604 792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
