Man accused of criminally harassing nine-year-old girl

TORONTO – A 30-year-old Toronto man has been charged with harassing and threatening a nine-year-old girl after she refused to go to his home to play games.

The suspect, Curt Scott, met with girl at the Campbell Avenue Parkette where he was alleged to have frequently visited.

After striking up a conversation with her and her two sisters, aged eight and eleven, Scott allegedly invited them back to his home to play games, and offered to buy them ice cream.

The girls refused his offer.

Last Wednesday, the nine-year-old saw an ice cream truck and, knowing where he lived, knocked on the man’s door thinking he would buy her ice cream.

But when she refused to enter at his bidding and he physically threatened her, she ran home to tell her family.

Scott was arrested the same day after the girl’s parents reported the incident to the police, and charged with criminal harassment and threatening bodily harm.

Toronto cops believe that other children may have fallen victims.
