Arms cache seized at abandoned rural property
VANCOUVER, B.C. – Dozens of military assault rifles, body armour and thousands of rounds of ammunition were seized by police last Thursday at an isolated, abandoned rural property near Maindlay Road, Alexis Creek, on the east side of the Nasko Lake Provincial Park.
Detectives who uncovered the cache suspect the seized firearms and military equipment were smuggled into Canada from abroad.
At this stage of the investigation, cops dismiss a link to any gang activity or militant group.
No arrests have been made and no further details have been released, said media relation officer Cpl Dan Moskaluk. However, “police were speaking to persons of interest who may have connections to the property,” he said.
