One dead, another seriously injured in collision between four cars

BRAMPTON – One elderly man died and a second was seriously injured when four cars collided at the intersection of Bovaird Drive and Ashby Field Road, Monday evening.

The dead man, a 68-year old Brampton resident, was driving a 2010 Kia Rio when, for reasons which the police are now investigating, he collided with a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, a 2005 Acura and a 2010 Volkswagen Passat.

He died instantly. The driver of the Passat was taken to a Toronto trauma centre suffering serious injuries, while the drivers of the other two vehicles emerged with only minor injuries.

A post mortem was scheduled on Tuesday to help establish the cause of death.

Police have appealed to the public for witnesses to the collision.
