VANCOUVER – Police have taped up the front entrance of the Sheraton Wall Centre north tower after a man was shot dead inside a restaurant at the posh hotel.

Police said they were called to the hotel – which also houses expensive condos on higher floors – at around 7.45 p.m.

“Vancouver Police Homicide Detectives have been called in to investigate after a man was shot dead at about 7:45 p.m. inside a restaurant in the Wall Centre in the 1000-block Burrard Street,” said Const. Lindsey Houghton.

“It is still very early in the investigation and there are currently no other details available,” he added.

Police are expected to provide more details overnight.

The hotel, housed in one of the tallest buildings in the city, has four restaurants inside including Cafe One, Bar One, Indigo Bistro and Starbucks. Police have not named the restaurant where the shooting occurred.
