Canada-wide warrant issued for escaped prisoner Howard O’Soup

NANAIMO, B.C. – Cops have issued a Canada- wide warrant for 34-year-old Howard O’Soup, a prisoner at the Nanaimo Regional Correctional Center(NRCC), after he slipped away from a group of inmates on an escorted visit in Nanaimo last Thursday evening.

Police are checking with O’Soup’s friends and family in Nanaimo who may be hiding him.

He has an extensive criminal record from 20 years back, primarily for property related offences, and was considered low risk at the time of his escape. He had been sentenced to 547 days for three counts of break and enter and one count of mischief.

He was due to be released on September 16th, this year.

O’SOUP is described as a First Nations male, about 6 feet , weighs 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a sleeve tattoo on his left arm and a tattoo of a rose on his right shoulder.
