Second mercury spill found near Pickering school

DURHAM – A second mercury spill was found Tuesday on a two-foot high utility pole near Holy Redeemer Catholic School in south Pickering.

Durham police established a perimeter and Pickering Fire Services contacted Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) cleaning company to decontaminate the area.

Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 highlighting (TIPS) or online at www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
