Fourth suspect arrested in 2011 Kearn Nedd homicide

PEEL – Police have arrested a fourth suspect in the Kearn Nedd homicide of 2011.

Nedd, 28, was shot and killed on April 16, 2011 as he tried to apprehend one of the two suspects staging an armed robbery at a poker tournament attended by 130 people at the Rozz Banquet Hall on Advance Boulevard in Brampton.

The suspect, 25-year-old Brian Funes, alias “Spanish,” was charged with being an accessory to murder and conspiring to commit robbery in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton court yesterday where he had been brought on an unrelated matter.

The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are likely, police say.
