Man critically injured after beaten with shovel and metal bar

TORONTO – A man was hospitalised on Monday with critical injuries after he was brutally assaulted by three men armed with a shovel and metal bar.

Police, who were alerted just after noon on Monday to Islington Avenue near Highway 401, broke up the attempted lynch, arrested the three suspects and took the injured man to hospital.

The three arrested men: Ninous Petyou, 30, of Brampton; Jermin Hussy, 22, of Toronto; and Nicolas Polmanti, 23, both of Toronto, have each been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of cocaine.
