Man referred to psychiatric evaluation for killing elderly father

TORONTO – A 39-year-old man has been referred to psychiatric evaluation after he called police on Monday to tell them that he had assaulted his elderly parents at their home on High Park Avenue.

The man’s father, Ivan Sego, 79, died of injuries the following morning in hospital. His mother’s condition was unreported.

The accusedson, Zlatko Sego, 39, of Toronto, was to have been charged yesterday at Old City Hall court with second degree murder and assault causing bodily harm.
