Female motorcyclist,68, killed in collision

DURHAM – A 68-year-old female motorcyclist was killed instantly in a collision with a pickup truck on Lakeridge Road and Regional Road 13 in the township of Brock last Thursday.

Witnesses reported that the inexperienced motorcyclist had stopped at the intersections of Regional Road 13 at Lakeridge Road and proceeded to turn into Lakeridge Road where she collided with a Ford pick-up truck.

The driver of the pick-up was unharmed.

The roadway was closed for several hours while traffic police gathered evidence. Road and weather conditions were favorable at the time of the collision and alcohol was not a factor.
