Family pepper-sprayed for laptop

DURHAM – An Oshawa family was pepper-sprayed by two thieves when they broke into their home and stole anr online-advertised laptop computer.

The theft occurred at 11 p.m. Thursday when two men knocked on the front door of the residence. They pepper-sprayed the family’s 21-year-old daughter, pushed past her to the living room where they sprayed her parents who ran into the bedrooms, grabbed their two small children and rushed out into the backyard to get away from the pepper spray which had filled the house.

Cops who arrived at the scene helped the five members of the family to flush their eyes with water. Paramedics later took them to a nearby hospital for treatment of sore and irritated eyes. The fire department was called in with fans to air out the residence.

The suspected thieves are described as black, wearing masks with hoodies pulled over their faces.
