Ajax man charged with ‘drugging for sex’

TORONTO – A 39-year-old Ajax man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman he met on Facebook two years ago, after he allegedly gave her a drugged beverage.

The victim and the accused Shahid Syed, owner of “Imaginative Studios,” met on Monday June 25th at the Carlingview Drive/Airport Road area for a photo shoot.

The woman claimed that Syed gave her a drink and shortly after drinking it she felt disorientated and was sexually assaulted.

Syed was charged last Saturday at the Old City Hall court with sexual assault and administering drug for sex.

Police suspect more women may have been victims.
