Nirosan Thillainathan, 22, identified as victim in gay slaying

TORONTO – Nirosan Thillainathan, 22, of Toronto, has been identified as the young man whose body was found in the 401 area of McCowan Road/Highway last Sunday at 2:00 am.

A post-mortem of his body, requested by the Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit, revealed that Thillainathan died of multiple stab wounds.

His suspected killer, Zishan Malik, 20, also of Toronto, was arrested late Sunday morning and charged with second degree murder at the Eglinton Avenue East court yesterday.

  1. I’m not clear why the slaying is described as “Gay”. Am I missing something? Have the police released details about motive that I missed?

  2. what the hell is this ? this is disgustingly offensive as i knew the victim personally and he wasn’t gay…why would you say this was a gay slaying ? is there something wrong with you Mr. Tommer ? im lost for words…. how the hell did u become a journalist? please take this down immediately for the respect of the victims family !

  3. You need to get your facts straight before you publish articles. As a professional, you should know that. The individual wasn’t a victim of a anti-gay hate crime.
